Dr. Van Bui, Asian American Dreamworker
Explore your dreams. Expand your consciousness. Dreamwork as an approach to personal growth.
If you are ready to deepen your relationship with your dreams and allow them to guide you toward self-discovery and growth…
Whether you wake up wondering what your dreams mean, notice recurring themes or emotions, feel impacted by dreams you can’t ignore, or are simply curious about what your inner world is trying to show you…
…then this is the place for you.
My name is Van. I am a second-generation Vietnamese American who offers dreamwork as a space for deep, culturally attuned self-exploration.
Through my own journey, I have come to see dreams as a powerful doorway into understanding ourself—how we live, love, think, and feel.
-
As someone who has spent time listening to and working with my own dreams, I understand both the curiosity and hesitation that can come with turning inward in this way. Building a relationship with your dream maker asks for openness, patience, and trust. I believe you can only guide someone as far as you’ve gone yourself, which is why I remain committed to my own ongoing inner work and growth.
That means when we work together, you won’t just have someone interpreting your dreams—you’ll have someone walking alongside you, engaged in the process too.
What is dreamwork and how can it support growth?
Dreamwork is the practice of exploring your dreams to better understand your inner world. Instead of seeing dreams as random or meaningless, dreamwork treats them as a form of personal language—one that speaks through symbols, emotions, and stories.
Your dreams often reflect what you’re feeling, processing, or struggling to make sense of in waking life. They can bring attention to patterns you haven’t noticed, emotions you’ve set aside, or parts of yourself that don’t always have space in your day-to-day life.
Through dreamwork, you begin to build a relationship with your dreams rather than just trying to “figure them out.” Over time, this can support growth by helping you understand yourself more deeply, stay more connected to your inner experience, and move through life with greater clarity and self-awareness.
Dreamwork doesn’t require you to believe in a specific interpretation system. It simply invites curiosity—about what your inner world might be saying, and what becomes possible when you start listening.
WHAT DREAMWORK WILL LOOK LIKE
No matter who you are and where you come from, your whole self is welcomed when you enter dreamwork with me.
In our work together, your dreams are welcomed exactly as they are—strange, vivid, confusing, emotional, or clear.
My approach is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and empowerment. There’s no need to filter or make them make sense on your own.
With a background in Jungian and Existential-Humanistic psychology, I see dreams as a meaningful doorway into your inner world. Together, we explore the symbols, feelings, and patterns that show up, and what they might be reflecting in your waking life.
We’ll move at your pace, staying curious with what arises and open to what your dreams reveal, without needing to force quick answers or fixed meanings.
My intention is to help you build a deeper relationship with your dreams so they can become a guide for self-discovery, insight, and growth.
TOGETHER IN YOUR DREAMWORK JOURNEY, WE WILL…
➷ Understand your fears, hopes, and recurring themes
➷ Clarify your goals and align with what matters most
➷ Process difficult feelings and unresolved issues
➷ Deepen awareness of your thoughts and patterns
➷ Grow in confidence and make empowered choices
MORE ABOUT ME
Dreamwork is more than a practice for me—it’s a passion, a calling, and something that gives deep meaning to my life.
-
I’ve had vivid dreams for most of my life, but I didn’t always know what to do with them. I would remember them, feel impacted by them at times, and then move on without really knowing how to make sense of what was coming through.
That started to shift after a dream where I thought a tornado was coming and everything around me was about to be destroyed. It felt very real, and even after I woke up, it stayed with me. I couldn’t just brush it off like I usually did.
Around that time, I also began working with a dreamworker myself, which gave me a new way of relating to my dreams and helped me start to understand them in a deeper way. That experience opened something in me. I began to see dreams less as random or confusing, and more as an inner language that could actually be listened to.
From there, I started to delve more intentionally into dreamwork through my studies in Jungian psychology, and eventually went on to complete a dreamwork certificate. The more I learned, the more it also became personal. It was no longer just something I was studying, but something I was living and practicing in my own inner world.
Over time, dreamwork became a steady part of how I relate to myself, especially in moments when trusting my own direction or understanding felt difficult. It gave me a way to slow down, pay attention, and build a different kind of trust inwardly.
That combination of personal experience, being supported by a dreamworker myself, and my formal training is what led me here… wanting to offer this same kind of space for others to explore their own dreams and inner worlds.

My approach to dreamwork is intuitive and integrative, drawing from Jungian and depth psychology, as well as embodied awareness and shamanic practices. I view dreams as meaningful expressions of the unconscious—reflections of your inner world that offer insight into your emotions, patterns, and life challenges.
In our work together, I guide you to explore your dreams with curiosity and compassion, helping you uncover the symbols, themes, and messages within them. Rather than offering fixed interpretations, we listen for what the dream is revealing to you. Together, we reflect on its guidance and how it might support your personal growth, self-awareness, and choices in waking life.
